Palmetto-Leaves is a memoir and travel guide by the author about her winters spent in the Florida village of Mandarin. Stowe relocated to Florida following the American Civil War. This book is noteworthy as one of the first travel guides dedicated to Florida. It played a pivotal role in stimulating the state’s initial tourist and residential surge during the 1880s.
