Brush Strokes & Ballpoints – Celebrating Local Authors & Artists

The exhibit will feature playwright Harrison Garfield Rhodes, authors Walter M. Miller Jr., Stephen Crane, Howard Thurman, and local voices Mark Lane, Kathy Kelly, and Robert Redd. On the visual side, visitors will experience the work of painter Susan Bottano, celebrated local artist Saltzman, the iconic Highwaymen, and the historic Merchant Bank Murals painted by D. Emery.

Whether on canvas or in print, these creators have captured the spirit of Daytona in timeless ways. The murals in our museum were painted by Don J and Don W Emery. They were father and son.

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s ahead:

  • First Friday Art Walks through Beach Street galleries including Cinematique, Valerie Elan, and Starry Starry Night
  • Teller Talk Tuesdays featuring conversations with local artists and authors
  • Special programs, book signings, and community spotlights

This is more than an exhibit—it’s an invitation to see Daytona through the eyes and words of its most creative voices.
